Solution

This training session equips learners with the vocabulary to name, experience, and discuss several elements of healthy singing as well as vocal anatomy.

The Design Process

This hour and fifteen minute facilitation was created after careful consideration of student personas that I also created as a part of the Analysis phase of the ADDIE design process. During this phase, I considered the experiences I had with the learners over several years of teaching Songwriting courses in this annual workshop.

In the Design phase of ADDIE, I established appropriate learning objectives for the facilitation and considered Robert Gagne's 9 Events of Instruction to map out an outline of what would transpire during the time allotted for the training. Reference the guidance offered by Facilitation Basics, 2nd Edition by Donald V. McCain, I crafted rough outline for the facilitation that would foster high engagement through the use of in-class practice, group discussion, & poll survey.

In the Development  phase of ADDIE, I created presentation slides using Canva, mapped out talking points for each slide, assembled relevant vocal learning content (videos and audio), and created a few surveys that would help students gauge their transformation  during the training.

In the Implementation phase of ADDIE, I implemented the course in person on Berklee College of Music's campus where I had full access to a computer, projector, and sound system.

During the Evaluation phase of ADDIE, students were given an opportunity to review their courses through the school's provided channels.
