This audio training supports Alumni who are on-the-go with an opportunity to prepare their logistics and mindset for the first day of teaching during the workshop.
The Design Process
This Audiobook Job Aid was created after noticing a training need that catered to the busy lives of working alumni employed to teach during the Annual Berklee Songwriting Workshop. My utilization of the Analysis phase of the ADDIE design process was produced as a result of both being an Alumni Visiting Faculty member in this workshop for a decade and observing the needs of my teammates. During this phase, I considered the conversations I had with my teammates as a starting point and gathered other information from my own experiences preparing for the workshop.
In the Design phase of ADDIE, I established an appropriate learning objective for the audiobook and considered the lower levels of Bloom's Taxonomy to limit the scope of the job aid to cover only how to prepare for a solid first day of teaching by outlining contextual considerations, technological considerations, logistical considerations, and teaching philosophical considerations.
In the Development phase of ADDIE, I utilized my skills as a recording engineer, voice actor, and writer to write the audio book script, perform it in my home studio, edit the sound, slice the chapters, and embed important metadata.
Hypothetically, in the Implementation phase of ADDIE, Alumni Visiting Faculty would receive this audiobook training at least a couple of weeks before the start of the workshop, accompanied by a quiz on the book that would assess learning on the first 2 levels of Bloom's Taxonomy.
Hypothetically, during the Evaluation phase of ADDIE, Alumni Visiting Faculty could fill out a survey about the job aid that would assess the first level of Kirkpatrick's Evaluation Model.
